SPRING / SUMMER 2022 COLLECTION
Kelly Wearstler has now unveiled her latest range of furniture and home accessories, premiering a range of new concepts and expanded editions.
Presented via her e-commerce platform, the Spring / Summer 2022 collection spans stone, luxe woods, metals, textiles, and ceramics, in elevated, organic, and highly textural finishes. The quiet of a neutral palette is matched with prominent geometries and variance of scale to create statements of maximal impact.
Clean, curvaceous, and low-profile silhouettes call to mind mid-century Japanese and 1970s Italian and French design eras, reimagined through Wearstler’s modern lens of pronounced texture and rich materiality.
An engaging exploration of the Morro and Colina collections brings stunning new vignettes to the mix. With familiar shapes and profiles, the new pieces embrace softer forms, moving the families forward into new territory. The first instalment includes a series of lounge chairs and sofas upholstered in Wearstler’s latest textiles for Lee Jofa.
This season also introduces the beloved Fractured Table in a new edition, scaled to invite intimate conversation. Made in Los Angeles, the Balthus range flourishes in hand-fashioned forms of brass with an interplay of spheric and linear expressions. Debut abstract lighting designs complete the collection.
KELLY WEARSTLER X MORGAN PECK - CONTOUR
Building upon her long-standing commitment to support and foster personal relationships with emerging artists in the LA community, Wearstler has partnered with ceramicist Morgan Peck to produce CONTOUR - a nine-piece collection of decorative ceramics for the home.
The CONTOUR range spans vases and bowls, plates, candlesticks, and for the first time in Peck’s repertoire, large-scale mirrors. Each piece features an entirely unique composition, and is meticulously hand-crafted, as evidenced by subtle fingerprints and impressions on the surface. Her unique, amorphous designs are influenced by rock shapes, stone formations, horseshoe arches, and 1950s car fins. Together, the group operates as a functional body that is distinctly handmade with an architectural, industrial feel.
The collection expands Wearstler’s online Gallery concept, which showcases curated, special commissions by emerging global artists and designers.
“CONTOUR is the culmination of nearly a decade of working with Morgan, a relationship that I truly treasure. It is incredibly special and exciting to launch the collection exclusively on my online Gallery platform” says Kelly Wearstler. “Morgan and I are committed to maintaining thoughtful, open dialogue when it comes to our work and styles, and this collaboration perfectly captures our distinct languages in a truly beautiful and individual form.”
KELLY WEARSTLER X HAGIT PINCOVICI - THIRD NATURE
EMBARGOED- 23RD MAY: Due to launch on 23rd May, the Third Nature collection, produced in collaboration with Israeli designer Hagit Pincovici, further expands Wearstler’s online gallery concept.
Encompassing two benches, a chair, a mirror, and a sculpture, the collection of sculptural designs for the home was born from Pincovici’s desire to reconnect with nature during the pandemic, where she spent time foraging and collecting wilted plants from her surrounding urban environment. Inspired by their natural, yet unusual beauty, Pincovici cast each foraged plant into bronze at her studio in Milan - transforming what might otherwise be considered lost into beautiful, eternal objects. Together, Hagit and Kelly collaborated to bring these cast bronze sculptures to life as a series of objects for the home.
